Ewa Grabska took part in the IUFRO 125th Anniversary Congress 2017 in Freiburg, Germany. She presented her studies on using forest inventory data as a reference data in species classifcation with the use of Sentinel-2A imagery. You can find a book of abstracts here.
Our master students from GIS specialization along with the students from the Humboldt University (Institute of Geography) took part in the field work in the Silesian Beskids within the course “Collaborative project in GIS I”.
Katarzyna Staszyńska took part in 6th Meeting of the Carpathian Convention Working Group on Sustainable Forest Management and Workshop on balancing bioenergy production and sustainable forest management in Mountains Areas in Sopron, Hungary, where she presented RS4FOR project.
This weekend the field season has started. We went to the Beskid Żywiecki and the first five plots (“L”) are done now! It was very sprightly and productive day.

Ewa Grabska, Katarzyna Ostapowicz, Anna Zielonka took part in the WorldCover 2017 Conference in Frascati (14-16 March 2017) , where they presented results of mapping forest aboveground biomass, forest species composition and secondary succession on agriculture lands with use of Sentinel 1 and 2, and Landsat data.
