The RS4FOR team is seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join its young and dynamically growing research team as a postdoc. Main task of the post-doc will be developing approaches for forest cover change detection with use of remote sensing data (i.e. Sentinal 1 and 2, Landsat or LiDAR data) in particular with focus on data fusion and different issues related to forest cover modification (long-term and seasonal).
The successful candidate will hold a PhD degree, have excellent scientific record and experience in remote sensing and modelling/programming (e.g. Python, IDL). Very good command in English is required. Good teamwork skills are more than welcome.
The applicant will join the RS4FOR team (dr Katarzyna Ostapowicz) at the Jagiellonian University, Institute of Geography and Spatial Management. The group focus on better understanding of coupled human – environmental systems, in particular land use and land cover change their drivers, patterns and outcomes. Our group work in collaboration with researchers and science institutions worldwide.
We offer a postdoc position for 33 months. Payment will be according to the local standards (and costs of living) with a monthly gross salary of about 4 600 PLN. Funding for participation in international fellowships, scientific conferences and relevant workshops is available.
